The 2026 Tour de France Shines a Spotlight on the Alps
On Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Tour de France will offer two exceptional days in Alpe d’Huez.

The first stage will lead riders to the resort via the historic climb and its famous 21 hairpin bends. The following day, another high-mountain stage will bring them back to Alpe d’Huez after a particularly demanding route.
For two days, the alpine roads, peaks, and villages of Oisans will be watched by millions of enthusiasts. Much more than a cycling competition, the Tour de France is a tremendous showcase for our mountains.
It highlights their beauty, as well as their ability to host international events in a popular and authentic atmosphere.
Col de la Loze, a now legendary legacy
In 2025, the Tour de France crossed Méribel and Courchevel to reach the Col de la Loze. This stage significantly reinforced the reputation of this climb, culminating at 2,304 meters of altitude.
Today, the pass remains accessible to cyclists from both Méribel and Courchevel. Its dedicated lane allows riders to experience the sensations of an emblematic climb, far from car traffic.
The Tour’s passage thus leaves a lasting mark on the region. Once the riders have departed, the roads remain and continue to attract athletes who come to discover the Alps at their own pace.
